My canvases', Swap and Typewriter

Hello! Everyone, it has been ages I did not update my blog and here I am trying to squeeze some time to get this blog updated.

A couple of months ago, my swap buddies decided to exchange a canvas project and I have done 4 canvases' for the swap.  I am totally in awe, love the work of Christy Tomlinson and totally inspiring, thanks to her.

The 1st canvas gone to Roza and I hope it is happily sitting in her studio.

This is the canvas, I received from Roza...
Thank you Roza...love this awesome piece of canvas!

The 2nd canvas was done for a swap as well, but unfortunately my swap partner not really keen to swap, hence this canvas will be put up hanging on my wall.

The 3rd canvas, is currently residing in Singapore with Emeline , and this is my canvas to her.

This is the canvas that I received from Emeline...
Love yours Emeline , very soothing colours used.

The 4th canvas, experienced the same scenario as number 2, and totally inspired by Christy Tomlinson, this canvas will be put up hanging on my wall.  Very colourful indeed!

The rest of my swap buddies has created nothing but "va va voom" canvases'.  I haven't got the chance to take pictures of all the canvases'.

Besides these, that I have created a few projects which I am yet to share but some have been shared in my IG.

A little announcement, for those who are looking for a vintage old typewriter, you can email me at yuzzyusof@gmail.com and I also do "services" for old typewriters. Rest assured all typewriters are professionally serviced and good to be used.  You can check with my friends, Amelia@Baby Blue and Liza@Misscraftee as I have done for them.

Thank you for dropping by and reading my post and have a great day ahead and happy crafting.

Last canvas for Scrappingville

I had a great term over in Scrappingville last year and so much fun, laughter, techniques and stories shared with the last term DTs and Sharon itself.  This will be a short post, here I am sharing with you my last canvas piece that I did for Scrappingville and I kind of went a little bit clean I should say, just some Golden texture paste, embossing powder and love those brown bricks for the background...eventhough it looks kind of odd to me.

Thank you very much to Sharon for the opportunity and thank you again for having us last term.
That is all for this week, I will be blogging again next week to share with you more layouts and in the mean time enjoy your Friday night and weekend. Happy crafting. xo

Crafty Sunday

I spent my Sunday afternoon creating an ATCs for my next swap....here some pictures of the sets that I have done. Lace and Thai silk for the edges, I love sewing, hence my ATCs. I would love to play with acrylic paints and medium but my girl will be painting not me so...that is another story. I will paint when she is sleeping if not we have two artists busy working at home.

busy working....

work in progress

So far managed to do 10 ATCs and more to come.

Crop Market and ATCs swap

I haven't been blogging and creating a layout lately. Plus my girl and my other half just recovered from their sickness and we also had so much fun from an awesome holiday with the family and all I could think of is my little crafty area, my work in progress "mini album", ATCs and tons of picture that I want to scrap. I don't know when I could finish my mini album that only 4 pages done...the rest is still on hold.

I had fun Saturday last week meeting up with crafters and friends. We have Crop Market at Papier and at the same time we do an ATCs swap. I swapped my ATCs with Amelia, Liza, Rosa and Sareena. I love all the ATCs and I even managed to find some other crafters' for my next swap.

All the below ATCs created by me have find their new home and if you are interested to swap your ATCs with me, please let me know.

I haven't had the chance to photograph the ATCs that I've got from them, will share soon in my next entry.

Not to forget thanks to Amelia, Sharm, Rosa and Teacher Jessy for an awesome tutorial and gorgeous work last week. Have a good weekend and thanks for dropping by.

My version of "Canvas Paint Brush Holder"

I went to a couple of art shops last two days to get my art supplies and I also wanted to buy canvas paint brush holder. I saw one at Craft Haven and it is black in colour and a few at some art shops. Since it is not that nice to me and totally plain so I decided to sew one canvas paint brush holder for myself which I did last night.

All I did was, I cut my canvas material which I bought from Scrap-n-crop (well I have another 2 meters in stock which I get from the local art store) and the magic started. It is pretty simple as I folded here and there, iron a bit here and there so that it will be much easier to sew and I pasted the Dear Lizzy canvas fabric papers at every corner and further sewed on top of the canvas papers so that it will not go off easily. I don't have a step by step picture on this project but I managed to snap a few photos just to share with you guys.

I have yet to embellish since it was quite late last night, tonight I will paint or maybe do some magic again. Those picture below snapped using my iPhone hence the quality not that good. I promised once all done I will blog about this again. Presenting my handmade "canvas paint brush holder". This is also my 5th canvas project.

folded the side and top and ironed

folded and ironed

I drew some lines (can't really see since it is in white colour) those lines are for the brush slots

lines finally sewed with blue thread

top view where I put a variety of Dear Lizzy fabric papers and sewed them (not that good on sewing, notice the uneven lines etc)

when you fold, it is actually cover the top part of the brushes

this is where the brushes goes into

you have to fold nicely and tie, in this picture I did not fold nicely because I want to give you some clear picture on how it looks like...

This is the one you will get from any art shop and once folded it will be like the one at the bottom

It is so easy to do and all you need just some imagination and probably a sewing machine. Have a great weekend!

I am so looking forward for my art class and tatting tomorrow.

Finally...this is my 3rd canvas project

I have no mojo at all to scrap and I have been neglecting my scrapping table for more than a week now. However, I would like to revealed my sneak peek on my 3rd canvas project, finally I finished this before the Hari Raya but was busy and keep on forgetting to update.

I used a lot of little-little designer fabrics and sewed them on this canvas piece and embellished freely and not forgetting I put some nice words be it printed or stamped. I also have an acid free newspaper and I cut the meaning of word laughter from the newspaper and pasted on, a lot of sewing as you can see. Each time I sewed the little-little fabrics I sewed them using different patterns, cut the fabrics using my zig zag scissor, I even used the Adirondack ink and coloured the background of this canvas (you can't really see through the pictures above) but it is nice and its give a bit of shimmering look. I would love to make something like this more in the future, I was so inspired by Donna Downey canvas project. Do share with me your latest canvas project, enjoy your week ahead and thanks for dropping by!

2nd canvas project

This canvas project was done after I did my 7 layouts of 12 x 12. My mission over last weekend is to create 10 layouts of 12 x 12. However, I managed to do 7 layouts and 3 canvas project (the 3rd one is still in progress). Here is my 2nd canvas project, inspired by Donna Downey...

First, I have stitched the word "Happiness" nicely with black thread but the two ss can't be seen when I sealed the round wood thing. Hence, I cut the word "Happiness" and pasted the above word. I wanted to put the word "Reminiscence" but I accidentally put "Reminisce". This is my first time using this round wood thing, perhaps the next one will turn to be much better. Can you see my handmade flowers (inspired by Sharon) thanks Sharon! I even used the left over green ribbons gave by Sharon and the leaves was made by my Singer sewing machine! I did the leaves and the grass, I don't have dark green thread so I used the lighter green thread - looks odd tho but whatever it is...I love the picture!

1st canvas project

Remember on my previous entry "Little sneak peek". I have been wanting to do this since the very beginning of my scrapping...hence I explore through the internet and here are my first ATC using canvas. I have been putting this project on hold for so many weeks, finally last week I finished it up and pasted whatever I can think off. At first I don't want to put any photo on the ATC but at last I gave in and pasted Zara's picture here and there but not to all the ATC.

Just for your information if you don't know what is/are ATC? ATC refers to Artists Trading Cards, at one time, they were miniature paintings or photos of paintings that were given to people to show the type of work done by an artist and they are quite collectible. Today, in the scrapbooking venue, they are varieties of ATC in different sizes and show different scrapbooking techniques. Mine are just so simple!

first: it was like these...
ta da... vibrant and colourful

On my next entry, another canvas project again...
