Altered box and tin

I altered a box and a tin yesterday night...

You know on my previous post I did an album for a friend, bought a box to fit the album unfortunately the box that I bought can't fit the album. I am kind of lazy to run to Daiso again, instead I found this empty box at home an I decided to use it for the album.

I coloured the box (top part) in white colour and stamped it with Donna Downey foam stamp and added some colours. First, I wanted to embellish the box to the max, but with aprons to work with, with my girl screaming for attention and so on...I opt to just do the simple one for this box. I hope this is fine.

and this one is an empty tin which has Christmas colored on it, I painted the tin in ivory colour (I used metal colour) and stamped some images. Simple and very straight forward, this tin will go to the new owner on Saturday. You gave me tin, I give you an altered tin ;)

all yummy, colourful, beautiful and cuddly

Lastly, this image of yarns is for Rosa. All these yarns...will be yours this Saturday!

and one more....these aprons will be with the new owner this Saturday, sewn with tender loving care by yours truly and I hope they like it.

Thank you for looking and will be visiting you soon.

My new name tag

I have been wanting to do my own name tag for so long but haven't had the chance to do so. Last week Sunday, while going through my stash I found my old name tag. It was a name tag that I did for a party at Papier ages ago. We are required to come with our name tag and at that time I am totally new in scrapbooking and never ever had a chance to go for any classes yet. However, I did mine and that old name tag is still in the same condition as I keep it in a transparent box.

Here is my new name tag that I did last week. Feels like I am just graduated from Kak Tim's class and this is more or less like his style. You know Kak Tim! Tim Holtz...

Thanks for looking!

It is so easy, you can go here and here to see the tutorials on how to do the "snippet roll". Thank you to Carole, Alice and Camilla for sharing the tutorial. Have fun creating...

My altered book aka JOURNAL

I have started doing an altered book with the help of Altered Book Club. I joined this club last month and thanks to Elizabeth for all the e-mails, guidance and help. I have scribbled some of my pages, painted, scrap, punched, gesso, pasted, draw and all the techniques that I can remembered. I kind of like it but not gonna show you all the pages.

I remembered Elizabeth told me not to mess with your book covered until you have finished the whole altered book. For 2011 I think I will be using 2 or 3 thick old books to make my journal. For altered book you must use book that has thread bind not glue bind.

the first page of my journal

some of the pages, but as for now all these pages are full with embellishments, journals and whatever notions that I can add...

Here I am sharing with you the first page which I used texture paste to get the nice raisin effect and I colored randomly. I am not good in painting and mixing colours but who cares this is an art and I just love it. Lucky I have 70 over of Jo Sonja's acrylic tubes to choose from and not to forget my other acrylic paints too. Can't have enough and thanks to Kak Liza for the inspiration on texture paste and my fellow swap buddies for sharing an ideas every time we meet up.

Soft drink crate

I have not been updating my blog lately and no scrapping done last weekend. Instead I am busy spending my quality time with the family. My other half on the other hand is so helpful and interested in my ATCs...he helped a lot...he even asked "do you want more paint?" (awesome isn't it)

I have also managed to tidy up my scrap room which has been abandoned and the maid is kind enough to wipe all the dust on the table, bottles and everywhere...clean as always.

I have also working on something which is this...I transformed this soft drink crate from this look...

BEFORE

to this

AFTER

I painted the box and my husband helped me by randomly sprayed the white paint and it doesn't covers perfectly, as you can see in some area there are still wood colours...(as I want to keep that vintage look just a bit)

I store all my mists', acrylic paints', alcohol inks', dimensional pearls', stickles' and I have more colours not only these...oh..I need another crate I think.

I randomly put everything in, just to take photo

here I wrongly store the mist which is upside down...later I put it correctly so that it won't spill

Do you like this? no? Just sharing with you this is how it looks like "how I store some of my favourite things"...

On top of that...today I received 5 parcels, ATCs and some yummy goodies from a good friend...just love all of them.

Thank you for looking.

My altered vintage album layout

This project has been pending in my mind for so long as I am busy with ATCs and my unfinished acrylic album. The idea of this altered art was from the Glitz Design and straight away I am off for my antique shopping. On top of that I even found few other things from my mother's house and some of her old possession are just too meaningful to throw away and instead I will be turning some of them into an altered arts. Thanks so much to Erin, Ginger and Laura for sharing your post and it is totally inspiring. I will definitely share with all of you once I am done.

On Wednesday I finally managed to pull this through and this is the outcome...
Just mixed everything and I should say it is purely or almost 100% Studio Calico. I used my Studio Calico kits' (I have too many of their kits'), and may be one or two of the embellishments are from my stash. Love how it looks like, colourful and bright! yes that is soo me...I will be creating more of altered vintage record album layout like this as I have few more to use, be it small, medium or large. Enjoy looking...

all vintage record album has a side pocket, so you can keep all your "memorabilia"

I have few more projects in mind but time is so limited, I need more time. Do you want to know what happen to the black record of this altered vintage album? Watch this space next week as I will be sharing with you real soon! Merry Christmas and thanks for looking!

Altered bird cage for you

I altered this bird cage for a dear friend and I am so glad she likes it.
