Altered Trinket Box for LESSology

Yesterday night, I wanted to play with my last month kit the Echo Park papers or this month kit Pink Paislee Nantucket but...upon opening the boxes I immediately changed my plan...I straight away took a cigar box that I have collected many many months ago and altered the box a little bit...

I did not use any patterned papers - I only used laces, poms poms, some tussle, spools, fur balls, bottle caps and a lots of buttons.  Thanks to Yvonne Yam, Amelia and Marina for the inspiration as they have done a stupendous "altered trinket boxes" and my eyes are wide awake looking at their boxes.

Here is mine...

Look how crazy I am, I put loads of buttons on top of the box and it is so colourful

the blue poms poms kind of not matching...well who cares, it is an art

aha...I put my ATCs for my swap buddies this Saturday :)

I used bottle caps as feet of this box

can you see the bottle caps?

this is the original cigar box

Since the colour of the box is so bright with those cigar papers, I decided not to put any paint and papers. Seeing those buttons, it reminds me of one incident - where my girl ended up in the ER in the middle of the night, screaming and the rest is history.  This box will be going to LESSology challenge.  Thank you for looking and I have a card, a canvas project and a layout to reveal.  Till next time see you again in my next entry.

You and Me

I am over the moon when the Pink Paislee papers came to me a couple of weeks ago...Pink Paislee Nantucket is so pastel and I love the soft colours. I have the difficulties of which one to use first and finally last Sunday I created this...and it will be going for Bird is the Word challenge.

A very simple layout this time, not too much paint used just a sprinkle of colours here and there.  Kind of like my clean layout.

On another note, I had fun teaching last week over at Scrappingville and the jamming session with all the DTs over at Scrappingville just too awesome. Thank you very much to Sharon for the canvas session with you and we really love the techniques. The jokes, laughter, ghost stories and all of it...I am looking forward to more jamming in the future and love love love working with Scrappingville. When Sharon asked me "Yuzz is there any particular thing that you want for your next kit" I am just speechless, however I am fine with anything given to me so far.  Syukur Alhamdullillah.

Lastly, have a lovely week ahead and I will share with you more when I have the time to blog.  Cheers!

Share

Despite the neck hurting, I still had a good weekend, crafting with friends, class at SV, out for coffee and lunch and of course some rest. Went to the doctor and those pills really works well on me and thanks to my other half who is so helpful and understanding while I need some rest and not to forget my little girl.

I can't wait for 1st October actually, that day I will meet up with my swap buddies, scrappers, crafters and new friends may be. Can't wait for that day!

On to my layout, remember the previous sneak peek? Well, here I am sharing with you the final layout as I have been keeping it for few days without posting it to the blog.  I used my last month kit for this layout, except for those papers strips and those background papers behind the photos are from my stash. The blooms, white lace ribbon, sticker on top "absolutely beautiful to me", the "S" label - those are from my scrapbook kit.  To create the blue splashing colour on the yellow patterned paper, I just dilute the blue acrylic colour and dropped and splashed it randomly on the paper - that was it!  simple and easy.

the "S" label is from my scrapbook kit, I was given with other label of sizes as well.  What an awesome idea to put that in your layout. "S" in this page means, she is still my SMALL baby...forever my baby.

This layout is also going for BITW challenge, as their current word if I am not mistaken is "share". My title is "share" and in my journal there is also a word "share".  That's all for now, thank you for all the lovely comments and advise and I really appreciate it so much and I will be blog hopping and visiting you soon.  Cheers!

Layout for Scrappingville: time flies

I forget to post this entry or have it "scheduled" yesterday as I have not attached any images, just the text was done.  I sprained my neck badly on Monday and I am now in terrible pain TOTALLY!  It goes to my head and the whole shoulder!!! Been to the doctor but she was late, hence I went home without waiting for her and I should be going again today.  Too painful to go and see the doctor and my girl was very good, she rubbed my neck and massage my head yesterday night.  However those little hands has no pressure, hence just a soft baby skin going around me - how sweet!

My apologies again for no posting yesterday, I will share with you below. Last night, despite the painful neck I managed to create one layout using my last 2 months scrapbook kit from US which are full with BG papers, Echo Park, pain dabber, bling bling, seam binding, lace, stickers and etc.  AND yet I still have a lot more papers and stash left from those 2 kits.  I can't wait to have a crop session with my swap buddies one day and have fun cropping, eating, chatting and comparing each other layouts.  That will be so fun kan?

Without further delay here is the layout I did using the Scrappingville kit.  Something different and loving the paint and the "paper tearing".  The idea of doing my page look like corset has been lingering in my mind for ages and when I did it, this is what I get, broken, old or vintage corset...however love the outcome, I used 3 different patterned papers for this page. 2 patterned papers for the background and 1 for the flowers.

Thank you for looking and have a great long weekend since tomorrow will be a public holiday for all of us in Malaysia.

sneak peek of what I did last night...

it is 90% done, I am yet to put some journal and I will share with you soon...

Antique vintage steel luggage

I bet some of you know that I love all things antique and vintage.
I have seen the same thing while visiting my relative over Eid Mubarak and she put it under the staircase and hers is yellow colour and I forget to ask from her.  After I am done visiting all the houses for "Raya" I went to the local antique store and found these beauties for sale and I just had to have it! I told my hubby that I want the red one and he said "take both, the green and red".  So we brought it back home and my father is kind enough to have it clear sprayed at the local "car painting shop" and voila these are the antique vintage steel luggage that are now with me.

On top on that I have bought from the same shop two antique glass jars and few antique plates which are similar to my late mother collection that I have currently.  Thanks for looking.
