Scrappy resolution 2011

I enjoyed my public holiday yesterday by creating 6 ATCs and I really love the outcome...this time I worked with mist, stamps and I also used my vintage typewriter. The results are just awesome for me. On another note, I have been getting snail mails every week - this is all because of my private swaps and also from the Swap-bot. I really love swapping ATCs with fellow artists/crafters and some of the swaps are not ATCs...I have done swapping laces, ribbons, flowers and etc. I have also received a number of happy e-mails from them.

Back to the topic, my scrappy resolution for this year is to used all my old stash and make do with what I have. I would like to concentrate and focus what works best for me and I would also like to explore more on using paints, colours or any mediums. Having said that I also have to be very choosy when buying my supplies.

My Martha Stewart punchers, EK and whatever brand you named it has been stored in a big box as for now. This is because the drawer can't accommodate the amount of punchers that I have. I also discovered that I have 100 over wooden spools. When I look at all the things that I have I just don't know which one to use and start. I think scrapper can't have enough of
embellishments/supplies. All the new arrivals are so intimidating...

I am also looking forward to have this built for me soon (similar to the photo above). Since the beginning of my scrapbook hobby I have always admired the clean look and organized room of Keisha. I have never fails to visit her blog every now and then because she is good in photography and I really love her scrapping room. I have kept few simple cabinet design and hopefully this will help. Some of my things are store in a vintage boxes that I have collected over the years and the latest are these...

Got to go and enjoy your weekend.

your childhood

I managed to do this layout yesterday night with the help of my little "munchkin" she helped by messing up my table and spilled half bottle of my Americana paint! very good girl...next she started stamping...that is how busy she is if I am creating.

In this layout I used Jenni Bowlin paper, Donna Downey stamps (I really love this stamp...super big), the 3 little frames are from Je t'Adore Collection - Making Memories, as well as the 1st and 3rd tickets on top. I even used my punchanella this time...so many ways you can use it, paint, masked and so on but this time I just glued them as a border at the bottom.

I really love how I paint the stamps in different colours (I really got to learn more on stamping techniques)

I add dimensional pearls in different colours through the punchanella holes and created that "V" like pattern

I would like to give a credit to Ingvild for the inspiration, she never fails to impress me with her amazing work that always look vintage and shabby chic to me. Truly love her work and thanks to you for dropping by and see you in my next entry. Have a great week ahead.

Soft drink crate

I have not been updating my blog lately and no scrapping done last weekend. Instead I am busy spending my quality time with the family. My other half on the other hand is so helpful and interested in my ATCs...he helped a lot...he even asked "do you want more paint?" (awesome isn't it)

I have also managed to tidy up my scrap room which has been abandoned and the maid is kind enough to wipe all the dust on the table, bottles and everywhere...clean as always.

I have also working on something which is this...I transformed this soft drink crate from this look...

BEFORE

to this

AFTER

I painted the box and my husband helped me by randomly sprayed the white paint and it doesn't covers perfectly, as you can see in some area there are still wood colours...(as I want to keep that vintage look just a bit)

I store all my mists', acrylic paints', alcohol inks', dimensional pearls', stickles' and I have more colours not only these...oh..I need another crate I think.

I randomly put everything in, just to take photo

here I wrongly store the mist which is upside down...later I put it correctly so that it won't spill

Do you like this? no? Just sharing with you this is how it looks like "how I store some of my favourite things"...

On top of that...today I received 5 parcels, ATCs and some yummy goodies from a good friend...just love all of them.

Thank you for looking.

Hero Arts 2011 Catalog

I have printed this catalog like 3 copies, the first two was printed wrongly but you can still see everything. It is just the upside down thingy or how should I describe...the first page facing you and the second page upside down. I don't want to throw them but instead giving it for free to you, if you are interested to have the copy F.O.C. leave me a comment.

Please note that I printed the catalog in colour! not black and white.

Swap-bot

I joined Swap-bot last month and it is kind of interesting website whereby you will get to join any swap that you like and those who loves creating ATCs like me you might want to give it a try. I have completed 3 swaps so far and has been rated. Those ATCs that I received from US, South Africa and etc are awesome and I have also joined a personal swap created by some of the members in Swap-bot.

Some ATCs have been mailed and I forget to take the picture, some ATCs I managed to take the photos before it is posted.

My first swap was "Blue", you are required to create something that is in blue color, below is the sample of the color.

Swap-bot swap: ATC series colors # 2 - Blue.

Sharing with you my take for ATC series colors #2 - Blue.

I used the "Thai silk" in blue color and created this ATC, small blue roses with a pearl like centre piece. As usual behind of this ATC, will be my brief info and I also painted the canvas behind.

My second swap was "Show me your city PC" you will have to post a post card to your partner assigned and that post card has to be a picture of your city. I am done with that but I intend to send more post cards to my partner in my second mail. Hang in there Linda!

My third swap is to create an ATC in pink, I did not have the picture of my ATC for this but I used the pink songket for my ATCs. Here is the sample of pink colour.

Swap-bot swap: ATC series colors # 3 - Pink

My fourth swap which I am yet to get my partner is "Key to my heart ATC swap". Here is my take for this swap.

I used the "Collection Elements" chipboard, my vintage wire spool, rustic key from my vintage hunting, tea dye muslin cloth, heart brad and this was done on a canvas. I like this one the most!

Till then see you in my next entry. Thanks for dropping by.

TA DAA...

Here is a layout I did after I came back from my vintage findings shopping with Amelia. Did it in a jiffy as all the things I need was right in front of me in a box. Everything are from my Studio Calico Kit (again)...only the title is from mylittleshoebox.com
I wanted to put extra "A" at the end of the word "DAA..." however there only have limited "A" hence the title "TA DA" it is...

it was a photo of her playing hide and seek behind the sliding doors, hence there are some clear lines on her face in the photo because of the glass reflection. She always used the words "TA DA" whenever she wants to surprise us.

Thanks for dropping by! Happy New Year!
