No mojo...

I am still mojoless and I am expecting Mr Mojo to come knocking my door tonight at around 9pm. Hopeful he will make it this time!

At the same time I would like to share with you on how I keep my ribbons. I love ribbons and you can't go wrong with ribbons. My ribbons storage was like this before...

yesterday I was busy twirling them into these wooden thread spool...

Share with me - how you keep your ribbons?

Hello!

Hi! How are you everyone and how was your weekend? Mine is fulled to the brim...with scrapbook, meeting friends, break fast with the whole clan and spending quality times with the family (a must).

I had so much fun on Saturday, went to the park in the morning with my other half and the little one. After which I joined my scrapbook class, meeting new scrapbookers and of course a little theraphy for me...I bought another slice magnetic mat again with some other things. This time I bought a lot of plain papers and a few patterned papers. The green slice mat will be sold to my ready buyer for only RM120. The below picture are what I grabbed!

I did not scrap at home over the weekend so no update on layout or anything, just working on my canvas and mini album (can you spot my 7Gypsies mini album in the picture above). Oo...by the way I did these over the weekend before I am off to the park. However, it is more like a trial in error and it turns out not bad and I like it (of course these body form below inspired by Donna Downey). The next time I will try to sew in a variety of colored/ fabrics. Isn't these gorgeous, no?

On another note, I am waiting for my acrylic items (album & etc) to arrive, had to order from someone as I couldn't find them in our scrapbook store. The one in scrapbook store are a little bit different from what I want.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great week ahead.

Design Dollies Weekly Sketch

I did this layout on Sunday night, again another 12 x 12 layout and this one is for Design Dollies weekly sketch. Here is the sketch from Design Dollies.

and here is my interpretation.

It was a picture of yours truly with my dear friend Julia, we are horse rider and crazy about horses. We shared the same hobby and that is how we met and of course our circle of friends that riding horses become big as times goes by. Now everyone are busy with their own things and we hardly met. Those are the days...

Anyway, thanks for dropping by!

Papierhouse August Challenge

For this month over at Papierhouse the challenge is to create a layout, card or project by using a read & white ribbon.

While doing the layout I realize that I don't have a red and white ribbons. Lucky I found a little piece of red and white ribbons somewhere in my stash. However, my creative flow was not that good hence my layout is so so. Since I have just finished doing my banner layout (the one I scraplift) and I am now addicted on doing banners so I put a little banner on this layout too.

Here is my take:

Thanks for dropping by!

forever so blissful...

Hi! How was your weekend everybody? I have a great weekend as usual and busy creating in my little studio at home.

I have been missing for a few days due to lack of mojo and of course the fasting month. I am just as lazy as my cat, all I wanted to do is resting or sleeping - but the good thing is we off early from work for the whole month of Ramadhan. For the past few days, I've been working with a couple of projects : the first project is my canvas and it is still on going will be revealed once I have done all of them, I don't know when I can reveal them as I have put them on hold due to some problems, like I need to get this ink, I need to have this and that...bla..bla...so it is on hold first. The second one is my 12 x 12 layout that I scraplift from Leslie Ashe. Which was done last Friday night.

Leslie has never failed to impress me with her awesome creations and ideas. She always have something fresh to share with all of us and the latest was a layout that truly inspired me to scraplift. I chose to scraplift a layout of Princess S her one and only Savannah. Leslie had long been a favorite of mine since before I started scrapping and she recently won the honor of being chosen for American Crafts as one of the many American Crafts contributing design team 2010 - 2011. Congratulations to her! I am truly happy for you Leslie, yeay!!! Hop on to her blog to see her beautiful creations and ideas. By the way, thank you Leslie!

Here is Leslie's layout that I scraplift.

Isn't her daughter gorgeous? And Leslie happens to also be an amazing photographer as well!

There are several ways to lift a layout or an idea. You can copy it exactly, using your own photo. You can change the colors and elements as well, you can also just lift a portion of the layout. I chose to follow her design very closely but with a different color scheme except for my 12 x 12 black paper which I sanded.. . I even used almost the same font and lettering, placing of flowers are the same, my banner I made it using different materials and cotton that I have at home. I used 100% cotton, silky blue Thai silk, batik print, some patterned canvas print and I even used songket. The loves' on the left and right I got it by using my big shot and run the material with the love dies. The leaves for the crochet flowers at the bottom was from my mother old crochet table cloth that I almost throw it away. I cut the green crochet table cloth bit by bit and glued them and make it look like leaves. The flower on top right next to my head/photo was and idea I've got from Yvonne. But all other elements are slightly different.

Here is my scraplift:

The above picture was a picture of yours truly with her one and only girl, Zara. Zara was about 3 months at that time, how time flies - now she is 20 months old.
Besides this layout I also did another two 12 x 12 layout which I will blog about it later. On another note we have been given a task to exchange Raya cards and this task came last Saturday around noon. All 8 of us will have to create 7 Raya cards and exchange, all the 7 cards have to be embellished using Slice. Now...I am really using my Slice and I am done with the 7 cards on Sunday morning. It is like a marathon...and now I know I am not a card person. However the result not bad, next I have to do the envelopes. However, I can't reveal the cards here, it is not a surprise anymore if I share with all of you here. Until then, happy crafting and thanks for dropping by, have a good week ahead.

Scraplift

Have you ever scraplift someone work before?

If you are a scrapbooker and you have probably heard the term "scraplifting" before don't you? Just in case you don't know, scraplifting is borrowing or "lifting" an idea from another scrapbooker. It is considered a compliment and usually most scrapbookers are honored to be lifted. It is good scrapping etiquette to acknowledge the lift by giving credit to the artist and layout being lifted. You must do this!

" If you don’t remember who you copied from, but know that it was copied, be sure to mention “This is a scraplift, but I don’t remember who did the original. If anyone knows, I’d love to give credit.” Many times the original artist will pipe up and be thrilled that you decided to use her ideas. Then you can give proper credit." (article from Scrapjazz.com)

There are several online scrapbooking sites host scraplifting challenges or you can do it on your own. Just look through an online gallery or a scrapbooking magazine and pick a layout that inspires you.

I would like to share with you a few articles about "scraplifting etiquette". You can go here and here to know more.

Have a good weekend.

Lace Doilies

I scrapped last week Sunday even I am "mojoless" for the past week. I scrapped this before my outing with the girls but I keep on forgetting to blog about my layout. Over at {Create} Make It Happen, their August challenge is to use Lace Doilies on your {Creations}. Here is mine...

The word LOVE is from the fabric I have, I cut and colored it gold, the alphabets was drawn freely hence the sizes is not the same.

Clear stamps

I bought the pocket file refill for my clear stamps recently and I love how my clear stamps neatly kept now. But I can't fit in the big clear stamps in that small pockets...got to look for another way of storage for the big ones.

Our Sunday madness!

Last week Sunday - myself, Amelia and Mariam met up with Rita as agreed to collect our orders on crochet flowers and doilies. Mariam and I ordered a whole bunch of crochets flowers and Amelia ordered doilies (Amelia has ordered crochet flowers previously). Thanks to Amelia for recommending Rita to all of us. Here are my crochet flowers and I ordered a little white cover for my yo yo.

After that Elaine, June, myself and Amelia went for scrapbook shopping spree and these are mine...
We plan to have this kind of madness once in a while, anybody care to join us?

Fabric Album Class with Rosa

PLEASE NOTE IN THIS ENTRY, I AM EXPRESSING MY THOUGHT ON THE FABRIC/MATERIAL BUT NOT ON ROSA. TUTORIAL, TIPS, IDEAS AND ROSA ITSELF WAS GREAT, PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG.

yours truly with Professor Liza Norman, Rosa and Elaine

yours truly with hot mama - Mariam (the pronunciation - remember!!!)

yours truly with Elaine and Professor Liza Norman

finally, yours truly with Rosa

It was a fun Saturday for me with all the ladies/fellow scrappers. The class was full of laughter, jokes, talking and a lot of stories was shared - not forgetting we shared ideas too. After our class we head for a group lunch, some of us have to leave early so it was seven of us having lunch together after which we shopped too (it is a therapy) remember!

I enjoyed the class so much, fun class, fun scrappers, fun teacher, we as a student on the other hand "always have something" to object, asked or talked while Rosa was teaching. Rosa was patient with all of us as she keeps on saying..."listen girls, I am not going to repeat this again".

All of us brought our own slice machine, our own slice magnetic mat, tools and etc. As this time our fabric album will be embellished with a fabric embellishments, hence it is totally 100% fabric.
The only thing I was not satisfied is the fabric given, it was not a kind of fabric that we all thought we will be getting and this fabric album definitely will not stands up among the rest of the albums I have in my collections. If we was given a 100% cotton fabric, like the one I have (please refer to my previous entries on my fabric album and 100% cotton fabrics) we will not be making so much of noise in the class. For the amount we paid, I think we deserved to get an imported 100% cotton fabric OK! To my readers (banyak ke?) my apologies if my writing above is so vocal to any of you, I am just expressing my thought.

The teacher/Rosa was great but the material given was not! I want to elaborate further but lets drop this topic and as a lesson to myself - I will be more careful in the future when choosing my class.

However, when I arrived home on Saturday I straight away head to my little studio and I am done with the fabric album. Thanks to Rosa for the tutorial given.

I managed to snap few photos with the ladies but not all, Kak Ame, Kak Fadhilah I missed you this time! I would like to share with all of you, Rosa's fabric album, below are the pictures.

*my apologies for the photo quality, I used my old camera.

Have a great week ahead and happy scrapping!

A little update

I can't wait for my fabric album class tomorrow at Papier and will be seeing fellow scrappers as well. Not to mention, this weekend will be packed with a lot of other activities as well. Among others - my weekly yoga classes, meeting up with friends, groceries shopping and spending time with the family.

Yesterday night I tried to scrap but nothing was done as I am still "mojoless" and I can't even match my paper with the photos. However, my other friends are busy scrapping and producing amazing works.

Tonight I will have to get my Mimi bag ready for the class tomorrow with Rosa. Slice machine have to be charged and we are also required to bring few embellishments.

On another note, anyone care to share with me a contact for piano tuning? My piano at home need to be tuned. This make me thinking of buying a digital piano, easier - you don't have to tune and it is lighter. To my other half, if you are reading this don't shake your head please - "smile" instead.

What will you be doing this weekend, share with me...

Design Dollies Weekly Sketch

My mojo decided to take a break over the weekends and I am just dry on mojo at this moment. I think it is too late for me to submit, but that's ok. Not a productive week in terms of scrapping but I enjoyed my time with my family. Here is the weekly sketch over at Design Dollies.

and here is my interpretation:-

Have a good week ahead!

Baking class over the weekend

I went for baking class over the weekend and it was not bad! I learn that baking a bread is not that easy, however if you do it over and over again it will be much more easier for you. Instead of using plain water we have to use ice cold water when baking a bread. Now I know...
I baked raisin bun, raisin plait bun, cheese bun, pizza, burger bun, red bean bun, crispy sugar puff, chicken floss bun and hot dog bun.

Not bad and the most important is I enjoyed the class - 10 full stars from my other half...and Zara likes the pizza so much!
