Hi! How was your weekend everybody? I have a great weekend as usual and busy creating in my little studio at home.
I have been missing for a few days due to lack of mojo and of course the fasting month. I am just as lazy as my cat, all I wanted to do is resting or sleeping - but the good thing is we off early from work for the whole month of Ramadhan. For the past few days, I've been working with a couple of projects : the first project is my canvas and it is still on going will be revealed once I have done all of them, I don't know when I can reveal them as I have put them on hold due to some problems, like I need to get this ink, I need to have this and that...bla..bla...so it is on hold first. The second one is my 12 x 12 layout that I scraplift from
Leslie Ashe. Which was done last Friday night.
Leslie has never failed to impress me with her awesome creations and ideas. She always have something fresh to share with all of us and the latest was a layout that truly inspired me to scraplift. I chose to scraplift a layout of Princess S her one and only Savannah. Leslie had long been a favorite of mine since before I started scrapping and she recently won the honor of being chosen for
American Crafts as one of the many American Crafts contributing design team 2010 - 2011. Congratulations to her! I am truly happy for you Leslie, yeay!!! Hop on to her
blog to see her beautiful creations and ideas. By the way, thank you Leslie!
Here is Leslie's layout that I scraplift.

Isn't her daughter gorgeous? And Leslie happens to also be an amazing photographer as well!
There are several ways to lift a layout or an idea. You can copy it exactly, using your own photo. You can change the colors and elements as well, you can also just lift a portion of the layout. I chose to follow her design very closely but with a different color scheme except for my 12 x 12 black paper which I sanded.. . I even used almost the same font and lettering, placing of flowers are the same, my banner I made it using different materials and cotton that I have at home. I used 100% cotton, silky blue Thai silk, batik print, some patterned canvas print and I even used songket. The loves' on the left and right I got it by using my big shot and run the material with the love dies. The leaves for the crochet flowers at the bottom was from my mother old crochet table cloth that I almost throw it away. I cut the green crochet table cloth bit by bit and glued them and make it look like leaves. The flower on top right next to my head/photo was and idea I've got from Yvonne. But all other elements are slightly different.
Here is my scraplift:

The above picture was a picture of yours truly with her one and only girl, Zara. Zara was about 3 months at that time, how time flies - now she is 20 months old.
Besides this layout I also did another two 12 x 12 layout which I will blog about it later. On another note we have been given a task to exchange Raya cards and this task came last Saturday around noon. All 8 of us will have to create 7 Raya cards and exchange, all the 7 cards have to be embellished using Slice. Now...I am really using my Slice and I am done with the 7 cards on Sunday morning. It is like a marathon...and now I know I am not a card person. However the result not bad, next I have to do the envelopes. However, I can't reveal the cards here, it is not a surprise anymore if I share with all of you here. Until then, happy crafting and thanks for dropping by, have a good week ahead.
